I was born in the small Texas town of Stinnett on July 29th, 1957. My father owned a service station and my mother was a elementary school teacher. My dad sold his business and moved us to the Quad City area to put me closer to medical treatment for my clubfeet. I started training in Tae Kwon Do in June of 1977 at the urging of my doctor to help strengthen my legs and feet. My new bride and I returned from our honeymoon and joined the Brady Street Academy. I found myself surrounded by dozens of fantastic martial artists who motivated me – sometimes physically (lol) – to stick with Grand Master’s rigorous and demanding program. And I wouldn’t change a thing. Through Grand Master Kim’s programs I earned my 7th Dan in Tae Kwon Do, my 3rd Dan in HapKi-Ye and my 1st Dan in Kum Do. None of which was even imaginable to myself or my parents some sixty plus years ago. Thank you for taking the time to visit us here and I look forward to seeing you soon.
